‘The Flash’ episode 18 preview: Emily Bett Rickards, Brandon Routh, and Emily Kinney

The Atom -Bad news for fans of “The Flash“: After tonight’s crazy episode “Tricksters,” the CW series is taking a week off. This gives you a chance to recharge and prepare for what should be a pretty fun homestretch of the series, given that starting April 14, every episode will be new until we reach the finale. That includes “All-Star Team-Up,” an episode that has a title oddly reminiscent of what producers have been referring to the upcoming superhero spin-off as.

The title does make some sense, given that this episode gives you a chance to see Brandon Routh on board as Ray Palmer a.k.a. the Atom. Not only that, but you also have Emily Bett Rickards coming over as Felicity Smoak, as she works to take down someone in Brie Larvin known in the comics as the Bug-Eyed Bandit, and played here by Emily Kinney.. Based on some of her currently-suspected motives, she actually feels in some ways like the Pied Piper from earlier in this season.

The synopsis below tells you everything you need to know about this episode, and also how not everything is going to be about heroics. For example, we have a sense that we could have one of the most awkwardly hilarious group dates possible, given that it features Barry Allen alongside two women he has some sort of feelings for and their current boyfriends:

“Barry is surprised when Felicity Smoak arrives from Starling City along with her boyfriend, Ray Palmer, who flies in as the Atom. They’ve come to visit S.T.A.R. Labs as Ray needs help with his suit. Their timing turns out to be fortuitous because it’s all hands on deck after a meta human named Brie Larvin unleashes hundreds of robotic bees to attack and kill her former co-workers, including Dr. Tina McGee. A group dinner with Barry, Felicity, Ray, Iris and Eddie turns into a disaster.”
