‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 14 review: The ‘Real SHIELD’ enters the picture

Agents of SHIELD -Now is not a good time to be a member of SHIELD, unless you are of course either someone evil, or someone who just likes seeing things in a complete state of chaos. If either one of these things particularly suits your fancy, then odds are that you rather enjoyed the new “Agents of SHIELD” episode that aired Tuesday night on ABC.

The biggest thing we learned here about Mack / Bobbi’s betrayal of Coulson is that they are working with Gonzales (Edward James Olmos), a man who seems to have quite a bit of dissension in his heart for the current Director over the multitude of things that have happened on his watch. This includes the deaths of Hartley and Tripp, the transformation of Skye, and his manner of doing things in general. The inner strife here basically means that a battle is coming, and it is really not one the majority of these people are going to want to fight.

Elsewhere in this episode, let’s just say that Agent 33 is another huge problem for SHIELD to deal with, but isn’t it nice to see more of Ward again? It was almost strange how little of the guy we were seeing for a little while there?

Our favorite moments of the entire episode, though, came watching Coulson doing his best father-figure bit to Skye, who clearly needs that little bit of love and guidance at the moment, even if she is seeing her time on SHIELD coming to an end for now, and she is basically being sent to a center for people with powers. She knows that her journey is far from over, but right now her powers are more of a liability than an asset. Grade: B.
