‘American Crime Story’ spoilers: Connie Britton from ‘Nashville’ to play Faye Resnick

Ryan Murphy continues to attract some of the big names to his properties, and you don’t have to look any further than “American Crime Story” for some of the latest evidence of that.

The funny thing about this casting is that we are learning that Connie Britton is joining this series (subtitled “The People v. OJ Simpson”) mere days after she said that she would love to go back to “American Horror Story” at some point after having a very strong outing in the first season subtitled “Murder House.” So who would she end up playing here? According to a tweet from Murphy himself, the “Nashville” star will have a chance to be Faye Resnick, a close friend of Nicole Brown Simpson’s and a famous socialite in Los Angeles. The interesting thing about Resnick’s casting here is that she is actually well-known to a different audience now as a recurring player on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Murphy has already assembled an incredible cast for this show, and it includes Sarah Paulson, John Travolta, David Schwimmer, and Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson himself. This new show is set to be an anthology, with every season focusing on another notorious crime story in our country’s history. The Simpson trial was the sort of case that had almost all of America watching for the latest, and it captured the public’s attention long before some other noteworthy cases like the Casey Anthony trial.

There is no premiere date for this event series just yet, but we imagine we’ll learn more in the weeks ahead.
