Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver new tonight on HBO? We know that we have been waiting a long time to see the show return. Has it finally happened?

Well, without further ado, let’s just go ahead and share the good news that you WILL be seeing Oliver return to the aforementioned network following a midseason hiatus. He will arrive slightly later than the “standard” 11:00 p.m. Eastern start time, but HBO is currently allotting a good 45 minutes to the installment, meaning that there is a lot of time to cram in some great stuff from start to finish.

As for what you are actually going to see on tonight’s episode, we actually have some advance information courtesy of the corporate powers-that-be — something that we do not always get. Go ahead and take a look at the synopsis below:

John Oliver discusses how the Trump family’s cryptocurrency ventures have overshadowed their other businesses, how they’ve created massive conflicts of interest for the Trump administration, and what it all has to do with Fartcoin.

We certainly should note that this is far from the first time that cryptocurrency has been a focus of the late-night show, but obviously this one is a little different thanks in part to his political focus this go-around. We imagine that the segment is going to run a good 25-30 minutes, and that is in addition to everything else that could be spotlighted over the course of the installment. We imagine that Oliver will at least discuss briefly the latest World Cup, even if it is not necessarily a huge focus from start to finish.

Hopefully, the episode tonight sets the stage for some more good ones over the weeks ahead. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for it, no?
