‘The Blacklist’ season 2 spoilers: Is Tom Keen sticking around?

The Blacklist logo any seasonThere are many reasons to enjoy this season of “The Blacklist,” but there have also been reasons to be skeptical. The handling of Tom Keen at times is the latter, since the character has only popped in here and there over the course of the past dozen or so episodes. We see him, he plays a big role for a couple of weeks, and then he promptly disappears again.

Is that going to change in the near future? We know that Thursday night’s new episode is largely all about him (hence the name “Tom Keen” in the title),  and we can at least confirm that he will be staying put on the show for a little while after that. (Huzzah!) He will be making an appearance on the April 2 episode entitled “Vanessa Cruz,” and if you look at the attached synopsis, you can have a little insight into what you can expect:

“The task force tracks a provocative female Blacklister (guest star Ana de la Reguera), a frame-up artist who targets the wealthy elite. Tom (Ryan Eggold) pleads for Liz’s (Megan Boone) help. Red (James Spader) pressures Liz for the Fulcrum, claiming it’s now a matter of life and death.”

We hope that this Fulcrum story is taken care of by the end of the season, since for us, this is only a story about an object. The important part of “The Blacklist” is for the most part the relationships between these characters, and now they are all woven together in the most complicated of tapestries.

If nothing else, just rejoice that this episode is not going to be another clip show like the one we just had.
