‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ preview: NeNe Leakes storms off; Claudia Jordan’s new gig

Remember when NeNe Leakes suggested on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” that going to counseling was going to help them? As it turns out, she may have ended up getting a whole lot more than what she bargained for out of it.

As the promo for Sunday night’s new episode shows, NeNe is going to feel almost immediately attacked as a result of getting everyone together in front of Dr. Jeff. With that in mind, this leads to her eventually deciding that she would rather not be there. She storms out of the session, and is pleaded to return. She’s not into it, at least for the time being.

“Searching for a new purpose in life, Claudia decides to pursue standup comedy but quickly realizes she is in over her head. Phaedra breaks down to NeNe about her declining relationship with Kandi, leading Kandi to pay her an emotional visit in hopes of deciphering what went wrong. NeNe gets the ladies together for an evening of therapy with Dr. Jeff, but things quickly go awry forcing NeNe to storm out of the session and leaving all the ladies puzzled.”

What is going on here with Claudia is quickly proof that standup comedy is thee most under-appreciated skill out there in entertainment. You have to spend a ton of time getting yourself in front of an audience, building a set, and then figuring out what jokes work and what jokes don’t. Even professional comics still don’t feel like they’ve “gotten it” until seven or eight years on the job.
