‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: A look back at Robin Hood, Will Scarlet

How big of a role is Will Scarlet really going to have in the second half of “Once Upon a Time” season 4? At the moment, this is a good question. Much was made about promoting Michael Socha to series regular before that season, but since that time, he’s only been seen sporadically. At the moment, his primary use seems to be as a love interest for Belle, and that’s not exactly the sort of thing the majority of ‘shippers out there can get behind. (With that being said, we don’t blame her for moving on given how terrible Rumpelstiltskin treated her.)

For those of you dying for a chance to see what Will’s past with Robin Hood was like, the great news we have for you today is that this definitely will be explored. Speaking to TVLine, co-creator Adam Horowitz teases that the past between these two actually exits in multiple different places, and at least one other character will be involved:

“We’ll get a look at a bit of the past between Will Scarlett and Robin Hood … We’ll learn they had adventures both in and out of Sherwood Forest.  And no look at the Merry Men would be complete without a return of the Sheriff of Nottingham.”

Don’t worry: In time, you will also see Robin Hood again in the present. given that Socha had the promotion, what we’re most surprised about is that Sean Maguire doesn’t have one given all the time he’s clocked on the series so far. Hopefully, he and Regina will find a way back to each other in time.
