‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Elizabeth Henstridge on Simmons’ Skye dilemma

Agents of SHIELD -There is almost an “X-Men” vibe going on right now when it comes to “Agents of SHIELD” and Skye, mostly in the way that different characters are all reacting to her newfound onset of powers. Of course, some are trying their best to be supportive; after all, it is not like this is something that Skye necessarily asked for, and she is as desperate to control it as anyone.

However, there is simultaneously another group who are more in survival mode. They want to help her, but at the same time, they want to ensure that they suffer no more pain. Simmons can be classified as being in this group, and we imagine that there were many who were somewhat shocked by her behavior on this past episode.

So what does Elizabeth Henstridge have to say about the future of this character moving forward? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she is specific in spelling out the way the character is looking at the dilemma, and how she is not even allowing Fitz to show her another side at the moment:

“As she sees it, the stakes are enormous and she can’t let this happen again … She can’t go through this again. She’s taking a very scientific route, which she’s always kind of had in her, but she’s always had Fitz to level her out. That’s not happening now. Also, she’s not listening to Fitz. It’s hard. It’s her way of grieving. She’s traumatized.”

Is it possible that she could even kill Skye if it meant the protection of her and those she loves? Henstridge says to not rule it out completely. There you have it: Another reason for significant danger on the show moving forward.
