‘The Blacklist’ season 2, episode 14 preview: Is Tom Keen still in love with Liz?

The story of “The Blacklist” is getting more and more intense with each passing day, and the same could be said for the relationship that exists between Liz Keen and her ex-husband Tom. One episode, she has him locked in the basement and is interrogating him at almost every possible chance in hopes of getting answers. The next? The two are exchanging rather awkward phone messages back and forth.

This is the name of the game in the brand-new sneak peek from Thursday night’s new installment, which features Ryan Eggold’s character giving her a call. He claims that he is going to be away for a long time, and for a minute, it seems almost like he is about to tell his ex that he still has some feelings for her. Why doesn’t he do it? Well, that is a very good question, and part of it may be that he does not want to admit it to himself just yet. Also, this relationship will never ever happen at this point.

If there is something that could be defined as a “sweet moment” between the two characters it is this: Tom giving her a little bit of undercover advice. Given what he did to convince her he was a great person during their marriage, he has so many different tricks to the trade that he can employ.

We have to give the show a little bit of credit here. After all, how many times do you get a chance to see a fantastic “Blacklist” scene without James Spader in sight?
