‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3: What comes next for Ichabod and Abbie?

The season 2 finale of “Sleepy Hollow” did leave things off in a direction that was in some ways definitive. After all, we saw the death of one notable character … and with that, a possible new beginning for another.

Specifically, we’re speaking here about Katrina and Ichabod Crane. The former died after a vicious fight during the finale, which capped off a surprising evil turn over the course of the past few weeks. That means that Ichabod and Abbie are far more free to focuses on their duties … and potentially more than that. After all, remember that there is such a heavy ‘shipper community out there.

Is it possible that these two take the plunge into being something more in the near future? Just as you would expect, showrunner Mark Goffman does not want to say anything definitive at the moment. However, he did tell TVLine in a new interview that if these two do get together, it will not be for a long time. This is not in the immediate plans for the future:

“Their friendship and their bond as Witnesses is first and foremost and at the forefront of their relationship. They are extraordinarily different people who have incredible chemistry. But we’ve seen all season long, the mission has to take precedence. I think that there’s plenty area outside of romance that works in their relationship; I don’t know if any of that is worth risking or worth getting into and certainly not immediately following these events. I would say I’m certainly not looking for them to be romantic anytime soon.”

The show has not been officially renewed for a third season just yet, but we do feel still confident that this will happen in time. Read more about that over at the link here.
