The first thing that we have to say here is that it’s shocking that “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has been on the air for ten seasons. Somehow, this show is still just as new and fresh as it once was, and the comedy continues to go in very bizarre directions.
For the upcoming season, we know that there are some crazy times ahead for Mac, Charlie, Sweet Dee, Frank, and Dennis. Specifically, we know that there will be an episode coming up that is mostly about the gang getting into online dating (we feel for whoever is dating them), and that there will also be one with Psycho Pete getting back in action. Miss him? He had a big part back in the high school storyline seasons back.
FXX released a new promo for the show’s January 14 return to TV, but we have to say that they could’ve crammed more of “Sunny” in there. Obviously, they are trying to do more to promote their other new comedy “Man Seeking Woman,” but we know from other shows that this sort of promotion (i.e. forcing it on viewers hoping to see something else) does not always work out very well. With that being said, it’s also hard to really blame FXX much for trying to get another big comedy, given how long “Sunny” has run, and with the end of “The League” now in sight.
We’re going to have some further news related to “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” as we start to move more and more through the season. Let’s hope that there are a few particularly notable hours along the way.
