‘Shameless’ season 5: Catch up before premiere with new video

You’ve been waiting for a long time to see more “Shameless,” but the good news is that come Sunday, January 11, the wait is finally over! New episodes will begin airing on Showtime, which is great news if you love everyone from Fiona to Liam.

In case you have forgotten some recent events, or if you are just new to the show and want to get some sort of insight into what it is all about, we feel like the video below is right up your alley. In it, you learn a few things about the entire Gallagher clan, what makes them special, and also some of the various problems that they have somehow managed to get themselves into over the past four years.

This new season could be one of the most tumultuous yet, at least depending on how Justin Chatwin is brought back into the fold. His return at the end of season 4 was a huge shock, given how he was believed by most of the characters to be dead. He hasn’t quite interacted with many yet, though, and that leaves his role completely up in the air. Still, this has to be one of the best cliffhangers for the show to date, right?

One other thing that we are curious about right now is if the show’s recent declaration of itself as a comedy over a drama for Emmy voting will help to increase its audience. It probably had more exposure in the offseason this time than any other year before it, but that is not always a strong indicator of future success.
