‘Survivor 30’ spoilers: What (little) we know about season, return date

Jeff Probst -Tomorrow night, “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” is coming to an end on CBS, and we find ourselves in an unusual position right now, not really knowing too much about the new season, the twist, or the cast.

For now, at least, we want to do our part to clue you in on a few important things to know, just in case you have missed them, or simply forgot while you were in the process of getting through this season. (Update: We now know a little more. Click here!)

1. The cast is all-new players – Every suggestion we have heard suggests that casting decided not to do another “Heroes vs. Villains” season with returning players here. We feel like some of that is due to “Cagayan” specifically being one of the best seasons the show has ever had. (Personally, it may be our favorite ever in terms of pure entertainment, though we do have a soft spot for the original.)

2. We are returning to Nicaragua – This will be the fourth season filmed in the country, after “Nicaragua,” “Redemption Island,” and “San Juan del Sur.” We anticipate that the show will probably be named around a twist more so than the location.

3. No more blood vs. water – This is not confirmed, but we cannot imagine that production would go back to this well so soon after the last season, especially since it for the most part has been a letdown.

4. It premieres February 25 – The show will have another 90-minute episode, and be followed by the premiere of “The Amazing Race 26.”

5. It won’t be the last season – While the show’s future has not been set in stone, let’s face it: The ratings are still very good, even for this season. With the loyalty that fans have to this show, we cannot see CBS ending it unless everyone involved just ends up being over it. Expect an official renewal for two more seasons to potentially come before season 30 premieres. We know that casting has already begun their search for new players, or at least they have former players putting out feelers.
