‘Royal Pains’ season 7: Work begins in the writers room

Now that you know that “Royal Pains” has been renewed for a pair of additional seasons, how about some more good news? This week marked the first week of work in the writers room for season 7, and there is some Twitter confirmation of it courtesy of executive producer Michael Rauch.

Also, this photo contains another glorious gift: Cupcakes, which came courtesy of series star Mark Feuerstein. Basically, we now want cupcakes. Seriously. For some reason we want sweets more than ever during the holidays.

The writers room is just the first of many major components that lead to the new season getting on the air; filming will start up next year in New York, with the premiere date most likely coming in June. That could be changed given that the show this time around is having a short season, but we’re going to follow past precedents for the time being.

As for what we want to see moving forward, mostly it is just a chance to see HankMed continue to blossom, and for maybe Hank’s personal life to do the same thing. He’s a flawed guy, but a kind one with plenty of room to love in his heart. The same goes for Jeremiah, who has been unlikely in that department many times already.

This is not one of those shows where we come into it with a laundry list of expectations; instead, we just want to be entertained. It’s light summer fun, and the sort of show that we really miss in December when everything is so cold outside and when many TV dramas don’t bother to give you a few reasons to laugh here and there.
