‘The Newsroom’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Jeff Daniels’ Will goes to the limit

Is Will McAvoy about to give up his key source on “The Newsroom”? We would not count on it. Tonight, we saw him standing by his refusal to do anything that would hurt Neal Sampat, as the investigation into the source started to really pick up steam.

The next new episode is entitled “Contempt,” and there is one word that immediately comes to mind after hearing that: Trouble. We’d be worried for Will if you are a fan of his, but Jeff Daniels’ character is not the only one under the microscope. There could also be some trouble with Hallie and Jim after she finds a new job, and it turns out to be something that causes a rift between the two.

Want to get some more information right now? Then take a look at the official synopsis below:

“Facing a court subpoena and possible incarceration for contempt, Will stands firm in refusing to reveal the source of the stolen DOD documents. As Charlie’s disdain for Lucas grows, Sloan and Mac scramble to find a more acceptable 11th-hour buyer for ACN. Jim’s relationship with Hallie is put to the test by her new job at Carnivore, a start-up website.”

We have not mentioned much of the ACN-buyer story in this article, but there is a part of us thinking that Charlie is probably yelling at Sloan and Mac, Obi-Wan style, that they really are his only hope. It’s far better than the present alternative.
