ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 winter finale spoilers: Could Rowan Pope die? Joe Morton explains
If Rowan does die on the “Scandal” winter finale tonight, we’re not entirely sure that ABC’s marketing department can proclaim this to be an all-caps “SHOCKER” at all. After all, the majority of people at this point seem to actually be expecting it.
The truth here for Rowan is simple: How does he get out of this pickle he is in? Basically, every single person on the show wants him dead right now, and there are many suitable candidates to pull the trigger. Olivia would have the most emotional baggage to take into it, while Huck is the most capable killer of the bunch. We don’t know if Jake is equipped to do it, given that he is basically a student of Papa Pope.
Speaking to TV Guide, Joe Morton laid his cards on the table, at least when asked about whether or not his own daughter could actually take him down:
“Rowan might put himself in that kind of danger, but I think he would be shocked if she actually killed him … I think it would be an insult to him that his own daughter would try to kill him. He is more heartbroken that he might want to know how and why she made this choice when all he’s done was try to protect her.”
The thing to remember with Rowan going into tonight is that while he may not have many blind spots, Olivia is one of them. Therefore, this is the ideal way to expose him and take him out … but is anyone going to be so willing to use Olivia as bait? If this man dies tonight, we imagine he will put up quite a fight first.
