‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: See official logline for Simon Baker, cast’s final run on CBS

The Mentalist -It is almost an embarrassment of riches going on right now when it comes to “The Mentalist.” It really was not that long ago that there was not very much to report at all about the CBS procedural, but now, we’re getting new stories at a pretty consistent rate.

One of the latest ones revolves almost entirely around one subject, and that is the official logline released by the network. They are promoting this as the final season, and we imagine that pending some miracle, it probably well be. Most of this is information you already know, but it is interesting to see the emphasis on Jane and Lisbon’s relationship, and also the newest addition to the team in Agent Michelle Vega. Take a look at it below:

“Formerly employed by the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Jane spent two years off the grid after tracking down and killing Red John, the serial killer who murdered Jane’s wife and daughter. Jane later cut a deal with the FBI to work for them, convincing former CBI Agent Teresa Lisbon to join him. They are supervised by the no-nonsense Agent Dennis Abbott, and work alongside former CBI agent Kimball Cho, FBI analyst Jason Wylie and young, ambitious Agent Michelle Vega. Now that Lisbon and Jane have confessed their love for one another, they must find a way to be partners in both their professional and personal lives.”

Just in case you missed out on the reveal previously, we’re not going to be seeing any Emily Swallow this coming season as Kim Fischer. We’re curious to see how she will be written out, but we suppose that it will be as easy as just saying that she transferred somewhere else. It is interesting, though, given that she is one of the real reasons that Jane came back to the FBI in the first place.
