‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Katie Cassidy’s Laurel in Black Canary costume

This is turning out to be quite the eventful day for “Arrow,” and news related to the show.

We’ve spent a good bit of time lately posting information all about Wednesday night’s upcoming episode “Guilty,” and you better believe that we’re going to have a whole lot more of that coming up. For now, though, we are here specifically to talk Black Canary. You’ve been waiting (or at least some of you have) to be seeing Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance in this famous costume, and we now have it for you below.

This costume (which you can see in full below) will debut on the CW show early next year, and we have to say, we feel like it looks pretty darn cool. The mask is especially effective, though we do wonder if the black lipstick is a little much. Of course, we still feel like this mask doesn’t exactly obscure who is underneath it … but that’s a complaint that you could have about any superhero on TV / film. The question we have here is mostly a logistic one, and that is how in the world the Canary can be flexible enough to kick much butt in this outfit.

While we love the visual of the costume for the most part, what we remain concerned about is pretty simple: Are you lifting the veil on this a little early? We figure that the answer to this is yes and no. If Laurel comes out early next year and is able to kick butt left and right, we’ll throw some serious shade on this. However, we’d be all right seeing her get the costume early, think that she’s ready, and see her fail a few times with it on. This transformation is not going to come in a day!
