‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Felicity’s frustrating past and other matters
You have been waiting to learn a little bit more about who Felicity Smoak really is on “Arrow,” and for Wednesday night’s new episode, this opportunity is going to present itself and then some. You don’t care this installment “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak” for no particular reason at all.
In this particular sneak peek, you get a chance to meet Cooper (Nolan Funk), Felicity’s ex-boyfriend who definitely has a knack or two for computer hacking. With that being said, he also has a history of doing some pretty illegal things. It took an unplugging of the server to keep him from wiping away student loans; while everyone would have wanted this, it was a massive overplaying of their hand.
How will this end up playing a role in the present of the show? That is one of the elements here that makes this particular episode interesting. We know that Felicity’s mom (Charlotte Ross) is going to show up in Starling City, and there is also going to be a virus that pops up Felicity recognizes from these days. Does this mean that Cooper has made the jump to being a full-fledged villain? It may be a little early to say that, but we are not going to rule that or any other possibility out right now.
All we can really say is that if you are a big-time Felicity fan, this episode should be right up your alley.
What do you think about this sneak peek, and are you glad to be seeing so much more of who Felicity was at one point? Share with a comment, and head over here to see more of what Emily Bett Rickards had to say about this episode.

Seriously ANY backstory other than Arrow’s is great right now. The Hong Kong Arrow backstory was so tacked on IMO. The original island backstory was long enough. So yes I’m up for this boobstory. I mean backstory.
