‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Which cast member is getting surgery?

There are some changes coming on “The Big Bang Theory” season 8, and at least one of them will revolve a certain character going under the knife … but not in the way that is strictly cosmetic.

Rather, Leonard decides on the upcoming ninth episode of the season entitled “The Septum Deviation” (airing a week from Thursday) to fix what we guess is a problem with his nose, but in true show fashion, not everything is going to go according to a plan. Just take a look at the synopsis below to get some further updates on what to expect:

“When Leonard gets minor surgery on his nose, Sheldon is the one in need of sympathy. Meanwhile, Raj’s parents’ impending divorce causes Howard and Bernadette to work on their own marriage.”

So basically, this will be a half-hour of Sheldon complaining, and Howard contemplating the future of his own marriage. This is something that is probably much-needed for the two of them, if for no other reason than that a good 95% of time we see Howard and Bernadette in scenes together, they are fighting about something. While this makes for fun television, there are times where we wonder by and large what one of them sees in the other.

We’re going to have some further news on this episode when we get a little closer to it airing, but for the time being, we would say not to expect any big surprises on par with Billy Bob Thornton showing up on this past installment.
