‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 6 preview: What has Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith so upset?

More news -Thursday night’s “Grey’s Anatomy” episode is entitled “Don’t Let’s Start,” and while that name may not have a whole lot of meaning at the moment, there is one thing that we certainly do know for sure right now: There is quite a bit of conflict starting up moving forward.

For one, Meredith just cannot seem to catch a break. She’s exhausted for one, and the challenge of working alongside of running a family are putting her and Derek both into constant exhaustion. Also, she feels like he is guilt-tripping her over having to stay in Seattle, and there is also the sudden surprise that she actually has another sister out there in Maggie whose mother was Ellis and whose father was Richard Webber.

So basically, she is reacting harshly at almost anything that comes in her direction, and in the context of this particular preview, that includes a suggestion that she should invite Maggie and Richard over for dinner.

Who knows? Maybe this will turn out to be exactly what Meredith needs, and she will find some sort of joy in this that she did not expect. At this very moment, though, it does not seem particularly likely. Instead, it feels like what we are really going to get here are side-eyes and a lot of awkward pauses. Maybe that will change once everyone gets settled in, but for now, we’re voting “unlikely” for if people are going to end up getting along.
