‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: Would Alyssa Milano return to wrap up Savi’s story?
The situation for “Mistresses” this year has come across as pretty messy. First, the show’s future was unclear after a pretty shocking season 2 finale. Then, it was renewed for a third season. Not long after that, though, it was revealed that star Alyssa Milano would not be returning, as she did not want to uproot her young family. The show made the cost-cutting decision to move filming from Los Angeles to Vancouver, and this caused her to pull away from the story.
So is it possible that there could still be some sort of resolution to the Savi story? It doesn’t seem likely. Milano tells Entertainment Weekly that while she would film something for the show to send off the character, she was not interested in flying to Vancouver for it. Also, she would want it to make sense to the character, and that may be hard to do in a short amount of time:
“I don’t think coming back for one episode is really going to do that storyline much justice … Okay, so she’s going to see them, and then she’s going to go off and disappear? Like, she’s going to kill herself? I don’t see how one episode is going to wrap that up… It’s a tricky thing for them.”
Milano conceded that she has no idea what the writers are doing, but our guess is that they will just push the show forward a long enough time so they can write out the character easily. The only other choice is to recast the role, but that is rare in primetime and they may not want to run the risk of upsetting Milano’s fans.
The one thing we feel is that “Mistresses” has a bumpy road ahead. They probably could not continue the show without a move, but in doing the move, they’ve lost their biggest star. Let’s hope enough people watch for other reasons.

I think milano carried them through the first season, and her fans waited patiently through the second. The other storylines are as thin as tissue paper. The harry/joss story line finished with her picking harry in truly creepy/can you say woody allen way that can not survive without savi’s reaction. Tucker is attractive but he has to wear a shirt sometime and what happens to dom. They should rethink the move or get new runners who can a write a better show. It was really was awful, it was just the actors who carried it off.
