ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: The Fitz / Olivia / Jake love triangle amplifies
At the center of “Scandal” is love, regardless of how many rough edges the show has or how many tricky situations Olivia Pope finds herself in. She just continues to have herself put int he most precarious of positions.
Sooner or later, we’re going to get tired of going around the merry-go-round time and time again with Kerry Washington’s character with Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Jake (Scott Foley). We also understand that there is further drama to be mined here. However, wouldn’t there be something interesting that comes from finally getting her together with someone in a committed relationship? What if she really was with Fitz on a serious level and everyone (including the public) knew about it? We feel like sooner or later, the advantages to the change are going to override the disadvantages.
Well, you’re not going to see any major shift happen until at least after the eighth episode of the season, which is entitled “The Last Supper.” The extended synopsis below hints a little at what is coming up on the show, even if it also doesn’t reveal anything too big in the process:
“Fitz and Jake continue to fight over Olivia, but Olivia needs them to focus on the real prize, taking down Command. Meanwhile, Huck longs to connect with his family and Quinn continues tracking Kubiak. Back at the White House, Cyrus’ exploits finally catch up to him, but Elizabeth North’s plan is much bigger than anyone ever expected.”
