‘American Idol’ season 14 spoilers: Hollywood Week officially underway!

Great news for all of you eagerly looking forward to Hollywood Week on this season of “American Idol“: The Fox series is finally getting things underway!

Per a new report from Mjsbigblog, filming for this big stage of the competition started this weekend, which will be some of the hardest few days that any of these singers have ever been through. They’ll have to go through a rigorous series of performances to impress Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban, and in the end, only a select few will move forward to some of the last stages before the live shows.

We are excited to see this round play out, mostly because we do feel like there has been a legitimate effort to make Hollywood Week more excited. Heck, we’ve even come to appreciate Group Round to a certain extent. Maybe this is just all by comparison; we absolutely loathe the Battle Rounds on “The Voice,” and this is vastly superior by comparison.

We’re not going to have any particular spoilers here on contestants who could advance to the next stage of the competition, and largely for one reason: We don’t want to spoil anything! There are some other sites out there to provide that, but we also know that there are some who want to be surprised. All we will say is that there will probably be the same typical combination of contestants you’ve seen before on the show, and then a bunch of newcomers who are looking to greatly impress their first time out. Repeat contestants are becoming more common, though; heck, for two straight seasons the winner had auditioned multiple times.
