‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Jamie’s precarious position
When the next new episode of “Blue Bloods” airs on CBS come Friday night, we’re going to see Jamie in particular go through something tricky. He’s trying to do the right thing (which of course comes naturally when you work as a police officer), but in doing so he also has not made himself a whole lot of friends.
As the sneak-peek video gives away, him intervening in a domestic crisis has him being targeted, and that is something that many cops do go through thanks to their jobs. Unfortunately, that does not make it any easier in the slightest when you are the person who is the target. You have to figure out for yourself how to protect yourself, and not let this sort of thing impact your daily life.
If nothing else, Jamie should take comfort in that he has his big brother watching out for him, and that should help to a certain extent.
However, “Loose Lips” is a story that will have a number of different stories playing out during it, and one of the biggest ones this week once again revolves around police politics. While not every Frank story is a winner, we at least give the show a little bit of credit for going in unique directions, and giving Tom Selleck something to do that doesn’t transform him into an action hero at a time when he wouldn’t be served going out on the streets. He has other issues as one of the big men on campus, so to speak.
