‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 6, episode 3 review: Kensi and Deeks share a moment

Last time on “NCIS: Los Angeles” we saw Hetty up against the council trying to tell her side of the story of what happened in Afghanistan without throwing any of her agents under the bus or revealing harmful information that could endanger anyone. This situation was made even more difficult for Hetty when the Department of Justice shows up to NCIS headquarters with a warrant to rip it apart for information they could use against Hetty.

So this week we picked up right where we left off – with someone who was paid to kill Hetty in her house. A security guard in her home (one of four homes that is) shoots the intruder, but there’s a second intruder as well and they both escape. As more of Hetty’s homes get hit, Kensi suggests that there is a mole on the team revealing her very private homes locations.

Hetty is still facing the council, but with the home invaders she is losing her focus and ends up fainting in the courtroom and rushed to the hospital. Is Hetty going to be okay? As it turns out it is all part of a bigger plot formed by Hetty to escape the courtroom (and in inadvertently give her team a stroke worrying about her.) When Hetty doesn’t show up to the hospital the team of course goes into panic mode. Hetty meets up with Leon who tells her that she has a leak in her team and that her personal information was sold online. Not only that but Leon set up the whole meeting with the council to get Hetty out of Los Angeles to protect her until they can find the leak. Who’s after Hetty? It’s Mattias.

The department of justice is still trying to get interviews with the crew at NCIS and they will not stop until the get their answers about Hetty and Afghanista. They push themselves into the boathouse where the team is all hiding and Kensi sits down with them first. Because the policy is that they don’t negotiate with terrorists, they want to know why and who funded the money that was given to the terrorists to get Kensi back. Kensi’s answers are enough to stop the investigation… but what did she say? Clearly whatever she said was enough to leave her in tears and crying in Deeks’ arms – a truly beautiful moment between them and as much as we love Deeks when he’s being a big man-child, we really love him when he’s being a sweet caring man.

Deeks talks to Kensi about becoming roomates, Deeks things that it would be great because they could pool their money together and get a better place, but Kensi turns the idea down. We want to see these two living together at some point, but not as roommates.

Also Callen has shaved off that grizzly beard and hair, and is back to is usual, handsome self. Episode grade: B+
