‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Will the lack of Regina be corrected?

Regina -Going into the fourth season of “Once Upon a Time,” especially after the extensive promotional campaign, there was a legitimate fear many longtime fans had: Would the story become so much about “Frozen” that a few other things started to suffer a little bit? After watching the second episode, some of those fears may have been amplified by how little Lana Parrilla’s Regina had to do. There was a deleted scene featuring her early in the episode, but when things actually aired, the only time she was seen was at the end, when Henry paid her a visit.

So what do the executive producers have to say about this fear? Basically, not to worry too much for now. Speaking per TVLine recently, executive producer Adam Horowitz said the following to those who may be feeling a little concerned:

“‘The Frozen story’ is not the way we look at that. It’s ‘the Frozen characters coming into Once Upon a Time,’ and when they do, how it affects everybody.

“An important thing for fans to know is that while we are telling this arc with the Frozen characters, we are in no way leaving the arcs of characters like Regina aside … We still want to explore them.”

The way we are looking at this right now is simple: Even though we understand that some may want to see more of Regina right now, we do know that there will be times in which we do find out more information about her. Within these first two episodes, we probably just needed to see more of Anna and Elsa for the rest to make sense.
