ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: First Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic ‘Child’s Play’ details

The latest -While Monday night’s “Castle” will feature a story revolving around an invisible killer, if you look beyond that for a week, you will get a chance to watch something that is certainly different, but most likely still fun.

The title for 7×04 is “Child’s Play,” and the story seems almost like a combination of last season’s “The Good, the Bad, and the Baby” coupled with the recent “Doctor Who” episode “The Caretaker.” It features Nathan Fillion forced to work alongside children as a part of an undercover mission, and all of that sounds ripe for comedy. Take a look at the official synopsis now:

“When an ice cream vender is shot, evidence leads Beckett and Castle to believe that an unknown second-grader may have vital information about the case. Castle goes undercover at an elementary school to try and identify the second-grader but nothing goes as planned.”

It’s almost a bizarre shame that this episode will note feature Beckett going undercover, given what we saw on last season when it comes to how she reacts around kids. This is probably why Castle was given this gig to begin with. We can sense no other reason, given that he only returned to the scene after two months recently, and there may still be questions out there about how much he can be trusted.

Ultimately, it does at least sound like this will continue the trajectory of telling fun, entertaining stories rather than anything that has a primary focus of getting us all choked-up and emotional.
