‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 spoilers: A small Christmas Special tease

There is not too much breaking right now in the world of “Pretty Little Liars,” and one of the reasons for that may actually be pretty simple: There are no new episodes for a very long time! How can you tease something that is as far away as December?

Well, we can at least give you a small teaser today from the show’s upcoming Christmas Special, which will hopefully resolve what happened to Mona, or at least some of the information she knew prior to being murdered. In a post on Twitter, writer Bryan Holdman had the following to say:

“#PLL Writers Room Spoiler of the Day:  In the Christmas Epi, someone says, ‘I saw Ali kissing Santa Claus.’  But who’s dressed like Santa?”

What does this ultimately mean? It is still very hard to tell, since there are so many different meanings that can be taken from it. Maybe this is a code, maybe some ridiculously-good-looking person is dressed up as Santa, or maybe this is all just complete misdirection. It could be the same mystery blonde woman who killed Mona (unless you think that Ali actually is the responsible party).

If nothing else, this quote does show to us that the writers are having a little bit of fun with opportunity to have a Christmas episode, which is something that they had never been able to do until now. For the most part, the show had been geared more around Halloween, though we do know that a roundtable special featuring the cast will air around that time, as well.
