NFL Opening Day: Ariana Grande performs National Anthem on NBC

Thursday night turned out to be a big one for the Grande family on national TV. Right before Frankie Grande won the Power of Veto on the live Double Eviction over on “Big Brother 16,” his “mega mega pop star” sister (his words) performed the National Anthem on one of the fall’s biggest stages: NFL Opening Day.

The game was the Seattle Seahawks at home against the Green Bay Packers, which is of course why she opted to wear a Seattle jersey for this performance. We’re not the best critic of National Anthem performances out there, but we do feel like this one is pretty great. She hits most of the big notes, and seemed to impress the very loud (and very passionate) fans of the team.

This is really just the icing on what is a very enormous cake already for Ariana, who has managed to have herself a heck of a summer. Her lead single “Problem” become the #2 hit in the country, and she has followed that up with some other successful singles including “Break Free” and her collaboration with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj entitled “Bang Bang.” She’s also performed at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Basically, the only thing working against her as been her brother at times being the most-unlikable person in the house, or at least he is tied with Christine (who was booed pretty mercilessly when she left the game, almost to our surprise).

At the time of this writing, it seems like the Seahawks are starting off their season in style, and are ahead of the visiting Green Bay Packers.
