‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: How big of a time jump will we have?
When season 8 of “The Big Bang Theory” picks up, one thing will be clear: Sheldon has actually been gone from his familiar hangouts longer than we would have predicted. We would have imagined that the physicist would have lasted all of about two days, but somehow, he made it to 45 on his own!
However, it is pretty clear that at the time he is rescued, Jim Parsons’ character is in a bad way, and really needs the help of anyone and everyone among the gang … but mostly Leonard. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Steve Molaro makes it clear that it is his longtime roommate who Sheldon calls on for help, and not Amy (who is probably not going to be too pleased about this):
“[After 45 days], his belongings have been stolen and he needs Leonard to come pick him up in Arizona.”
One noticeable benefit that comes right away from the show having this time jump is that it allows for some other important changes to take place. Namely, we are talking here mostly about Penny having time for a makeover. The series is writing in Kaley Cuoco getting rid of her long locks, which gives the character a new look for one of the first times since the early seasons when she was sporting some of those bangs. (Just go back and take a look at them if you don’t remember.)
The new season of “The Big Bang Theory” premieres on Monday, September 22, but we will of course have more news before then.

I like to see Amy stand up to Sheldon a bit more for taking her for granted. Sheldon needs to appreciate Amy more.
