‘Big Brother 16’ review: Donny (nearly) saves us from boredom

Donny -We wanted to see something very cool on tonight’s “Big Brother 16” episode, but instead what we really ended up having was something that could be a cure for insomnia. We already knew the Head of Household results, so we couldn’t even look for a dramatic Donny victory.

What we can at least do is praise the Beard for trying. The guy did about as well as someone in his situation really could hope for, doing everything but answer the final question correctly to win HoH over Cody.

Everything that came after that was pretty pathetic. Cody slept through campaign pitches from Nicole and Donny while they each awaited being put on the block at the end of the night. They knew it was coming, so there was really no surprise in the slightest that they were up.

The only things that were somewhat interesting in here were seeing Christine and Frankie’s names get tossed around quite a bit as targets, which serves as a further reminder that this side of the Detonators may be targeted sooner rather than later. If we were Cody and Derrick, we would have considered bringing in Donny and Nicole to help get rid of Frankie, Caleb, and then Christine, if for no other reason than that Frankie and Caleb are competition threats and an alliance of three is bigger than two. If nothing else, get rid of Frankie and Caleb, and then get rid of Donny and Nicole before getting rid of Christine.

In the end, we really just wish this “Big Brother 16” episode was so much more than it was … which was pretty darn dull. Grade: C.
