‘The Last Ship’ season 2 spoilers: Where could this ship go from here?
Tonight, we will be at the end of the journey for “The Last Ship” on TNT … at least for the time being.
For those who missed the news, season 2 of the Michael Bay-produced show has already been ordered, so there is no reason to worry about tonight’s episode being the metaphorical end of the road. We imagine the question that you will want to ask yourself instead being when the show is coming back. We feel like we have an easy answer for that, as well: Next summer. The performance of the show this year was good enough that there is no real reason for TNT to want to change things up too dramatically. We actually feel like they will be more likely to move the final season of “Falling Skies,” given that they could use this show and its audience more effectively as a lead-in.
As for potential storylines, we imagine that there will be less tension this time surrounding whether or not this crew can function now within this world. We already know that they can, and they will not leave Chandler behind no matter the circumstance. With that, we expect a second season to expand the world of the show somewhat, introduce us to new, interesting characters, and have us wonder if there is a way for the world to ever be restored again. Given that “Falling Skies” has lasted four seasons already without answering every question, we certainly imagine that this show will eventually be doing the same exact thing.

I want to see more of LT Danny Green and LT Kara Foster. their story was so beautiful that I was sad that there weren’t much scenes that had them together, but I get the show wasn’t about all the mushy stuff. However it’s great to see the mushy stuff. it keeps me hooks

I would love to see Tex and Dr. Scott get together – they have great chemistry. Chandler should be made Leader, or possibly the rebel leader (he’d be great too). And, I hope the boats approaching the ship turn out to be rebels…that would be an awesome plot! Oh, and the snide police officer who shot some of the crew, please make him shark bait, along with the crazy lady who thinks she’s ruler of the world. Awesome show!!!!

I can’t believe I have to wait a year for season 2, when dumb shows like Dance Moms get 2-3 seasons a year.

I would like to see Chandler and the doctor get together, after that kiss even though we now know Dr. Scott was passing a message there was definitely more to it, they have great chemistry. I like Tex but not for the doc.

While it was a b#?ch of a cliffhanger, I have to disagree with the implication of it being the “most cruel ever”. I recall a season finale that nearly crippled a nation almost 30 years ago. The show- “Dallas”. The episode- “Who Shot J.R.” And I am now becoming aware of how much my age is showing….SMH

It seems like all these great shows like Last Ship come in with a bang and then they are forgotten because they are gone for so long. Or like Falling Skies, the first season was awesome then it disappeared for almost a year and now it sucks.

I just saw the last episode of The Last Ship and was very impressed with the whole series. But I agree with the last post. If I have to wait a whole year for Season 2, then you will lose me as a viewer. I enjoy watching the cable channels more so than the regular channels but the way they space out their good shows needs to be rethought.

Well it’ll certainly begin with an attack on the lab by Chandler and the ‘rebels’, after they meet somehow. They will rescue the crew and get back to the ship

What makes everyone thing the ship is lost? Only a few state police have the crew. We don’t even know if it’s the whole crew. And the helicopters and boats are only approaching. All I see are targets, targets everywhere.
