‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 teams up with Hulu Plus

Sleepy Hollow -In this age of streaming content, there is an additional battle that wages that was not present until a couple of years ago: Companies battling it out to be the official home of many programs that are out there. This is a great way for fans / subscribers of a given service to discover something new, and “Breaking Bad” on Netflix proved that this can also be a great way for someone to catch up and start watching live.

With this story, though, we’re talking about “Sleepy Hollow” and Hulu Plus. The service announced on Friday that they have acquired the exclusive streaming rights to the story of Ichabod Crane and company. The service now has the entire first season of the series available for streaming starting now, and they will have next-day access to new episodes beginning with the season 2 premiere and beyond. That’s an easy way to watch if you don’t have DVR, or if you just don’t have a standard cable package. Hey, that’s becoming more and more of a thing these days.

We feel like streaming is something that could be especially effective for a show like this to survive for many years, given that there is a serialized / addictive quality to these episodes that make it a perfect candidate for binge-watching. Also, the timing here is about right. You can start watching the episodes now, and you can finish in plenty of time before the show returns to Fox in September with new episodes. We’ll have to wait and see if this has any impact at all on the ratings.
