‘Girls’ season 4 spoilers: Lena Dunham and company’s latest casting
Who is joining the cast now on “Girls“? You are going to get a name, but in true fashion when it comes to this show, you are really not going to be getting a whole lot else.
We’ll go ahead and start here with some of the details that are at least somewhat official. According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Jake Lacy has signed on for a role. He’s appeared on both “The Office” and the short-lived ABC comedy “Better With You,” and he also has a role in the upcoming feature film “Obvious Child.”
The reason that we feel “Girls” gets all Matthew Weiner when it comes to not releasing details about their guest characters is that this, like “Mad Men,” is really not a show that can sell you anything with special effects or jaw-dropping cliffhangers. It’s not built that way. Instead, everything is all about the story, and telling you who an actor is playing gives away a very large percentage of that.
Anyway, you will have a better chance to see where this story goes when “Girls” season 4 premieres at some point on HBO in January. Right now, the information that is largely given is that the story will revolve mostly around the attempts by Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham) to find a place for herself after deciding to attempt a writer’s workshop in Iowa. This is going to be quite an interesting series of stories to watch unfold here, since there is still the relationship with Adam to think about, and also the other characters. It’s not going to be easy for Marnie and Jessa to just randomly come out and visit her.
