‘The Last Ship’ episode 8 preview: Is saving Eric Dane’s Chandler worth it?

Before you start pressing the panic button on us here when it comes to the title for this particular “Last Ship” article, we are not asking about whether or not we think saving Chandler is worth the effort; instead, this is what Mr. Ominous Promo Guy suggests in the video below.

Basically, the situation that they’ve landed themselves here is a tricky one. The ship in many ways needs the leadership of Eric Dane’s character to both survive and save the world; at the same time, though, actually rescuing him means that you may be sacrificing your own life in the process. This is truly like we like to call a no-win situation, since we do not foresee there being any one solution that can be taken where everyone is safe.

At the end of the day, though, somebody’s got to save Chandler, right? We cannot see this show being one to kill off their main character this early, and we would officially feel really sad for Dane if this happens based on both this and “Grey’s Anatomy” combined. That’s too many sad outcomes for an individual actor.

There are still many hardships still to come, though, with the ship pun very much intended here. The next new episode of the show is the third-to-last one of the season, and based on some of the explosions in the preview (remember that this is a Michael Bay-produced show), we are most likely building to an epic conclusion … not to mention a potential season 2 cliffhanger.
