‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder unsure of show’s future
Is season 6 going to be the last for “The Vampire Diaries“? As with many other shows looking past their sixth season, the show is in a somewhat-precarious position. Typically, actors who originally join a TV show sign a contract that lasts for six seasons, and there is sometimes an option that comes in for a seventh.
For right now, though, the actors of this particular CW hit are doing their best to boy coy about what could be coming up. Speaking at a show convention in Dallas this weekend, Paul Wesley merely said that they “don’t know” what is going to be coming next for the show beyond this year. Do we imagine that some of the actors may want to go on and do other things? Sure, given that they are all young, Nina Dobrev has been doing more movies, and Atlanta is not particularly close to Hollywood. However, this show is a great source of income, and the fans are passionate. To us, the better solution is to continue going on the show until you’ve got some of the money from that second contract, and then decide to do something else.
We feel like there’s at least one more season coming up for the show beyond this one, largely due to the fact that The CW would want to announce a final season beforehand as a way to draw extra press. Plus, there’s still a lot to really address on the show in between Elena in college (read about her new job here) and getting Damon back from wherever he is right now in the supernatural world.

Uhh I definitely want the vampire diaries to continue after this season. I don’t know if I can live without it! JK. I do want it to go on though. I ❤️ TVD

Of course they should! Why people are saying no, means they’re not true TVD fans and if they’re not than why are they reading about it? I always think 7 or 8 seasons really makes a show ♡

I stopped watching properly a while back, Just bit scenes of my favourites. This show has become to painful for me since I dearly loved the books as a child.
I want S6 to be the last. If only to see Paul, Ian, Kat and Candice on other better, more diverse role projects.

Yes! They should all come back for at least a final 7th season to end the show properly, do a final press tour and give the fans a last hurrah since it’s the FANS who helped make this show a success by watching season to season. I feel VD made Nina, Ian and Paul more known, popular then what they were before the show, and that is in large part due to a VERY loyal fanbase for the show. I’m all for them bring able to move on and live their lives but let’s finish what you started here first.

that would be nice if they made more seasons besides season 6 but it would be up to the actress and actor to make that decision if they want to stay on I think it would be cute if a man and Elena would get married and have kids and share their life that would be kinda interesting and then fall find a girl and get married and that would be kinda interesting and the kids can grow up together but busy and has a girlfriend I don’t know if that’s going to last that long on the next season pass 6th and let and changes his mind about that because the public will think it’s kind of weird and has a girlfriend and Damon and Elena would be together on the show I think that would be kind of weird because the public does not like daimonds new girlfriend that much and I don’t know if the show me the last after the season 6 and let things changed on the shelf so I don’t know it would be nice to keep on watching it but its up Damon Elena and Stefan and the rest of the cast to make that decision also I don’t know if Nikki would care too much for Damon to do love scene marry me and have kids on the TV on Vampire Diaries because that would be a little upset for Nikki so I don’t know it would be nice if we had more seasons I’m trying to save up the money so I can come and see the cast but its kinda hard when you’re on a fixed income and you had a stroke and you’re not doing very well I’d like to come before I get where I can travel anymore but it takes a lot of money and my grandson and the house in bill comes first before anything else my pleasure comes the last at last because family and paying rent comes before any pleasure in my life the one of these days maybe before I get too old
