‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4, episode 1 reaction: Anson Mount, cast reflect on premiere

Hell on Wheels -Last night, AMC got “Hell on Wheels” season 4 off to a strong start by showcasing to us what life was now like for one Cullen Bohannon. He’s in Fort Smith, a location where he basically is a prisoner at the hands of The Swede. That is no easy place for a many like him to be, especially while also trying to balance out having a new family.

In the video below, you can see Anson Mount along with Mackenzie Porter (Naomi) open up about this experience, and what it is like for Cullen to be in such a place mentally. He obviously wants to do right by his new wife, but also understands that this is not a particularly easy thing to do.

Meanwhile, Phil Burke opens upon about his experiences playing Mickey now that the character has come to find a new sort of power, and Robin McLeavy also discusses Eva’s current state of devastation. At the moment, it is beyond sad seeing her not only without Elam, but having to be witness to all sorts of unspeakable things that are happening to her. You want to hope that things will turn around in time, but at the moment there are no real guarantees of anything.

The next episode is going to be an even bigger one, given that we are about to see a much-larger role for Jake Weber (a new series regular) as John Campbell, the man responsible now for governing Wyoming. Let’s just say that he and Durant are going to clash early, and often.
