‘Girl Meets World’ episode 5 video: Does the truth come out for Maya?

Friday night marks another new “Girl Meets World” episode, and in turn, another opportunity to see what happens when Riley and Maya get themselves in trouble.

For the new episode Friday, though, we’re specifically going to be looking more at a mistake that Maya has made when it comes to “finding” a locket, and then promptly lying about it. She could make so much more headway if she was just open and honest about it, but instead, she continues to make her life so much harder for herself than she really needs to. Why? It’s probably just because she’s young, and this is what young people do.

Meanwhile, Riley’s got her own truth problem in this episode … albeit of a very different kind. She doesn’t want to admit that Farkle was bad in a school play. The difference between the two is pretty simple, though: One of them is a lie told more to not heard feelings, while the other is self-serving. For Riley, the challenge is more to find the balance between being truthful, but also not being hurtful to someone who clearly does not deserve to be smashed into pieces emotionally. Farkle’s a good kid! The problem is just that he is full of untapped energy, and he does not fully know how to contain it most of the time.
