‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: What is the premiere title?
When we found out the title for the second episode of the “NCIS” premiere before the title, we started to wonder whether or not there was something strange about its name, or something that producers were trying to hide for a little while longer.
After finally seeing the title, we’re starting to wonder a little more what was the reason for all of the secrecy. Per a report from TVLine, the name of the episode is none other than “20 Clicks,” which tells us virtually nothing about what the episode will be about at all. Is this the number of clicks required to spawn an internet Beetlejuice? We figured that it would really only be three…
What we know about this episode plot-wise is more of what we knew previously. The installment will feature Mark Harmon in a prominent role, and also introduce a villain who will be around for a good chunk of the season. After ending season 11 on a quieter / more emotional note with the death of Jackson Gibbs, it appears really going in full-throttle is the intention of producers moving into season 12. They want you to get to know some new characters quickly, and from there push you into some exciting character stories that will put the cast in new / interesting positions. (You can find out a bit about everything we know so far at the link here.)
The new season premieres on CBS come Tuesday, September 23 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, so there will almost certainly be more details that come out about this and other episodes until that time.
Is there anything that you want to see in particular on the “NCIS” season 12 premiere? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to head over here to get some additional updates on everything we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

If Ziva returns the show will morph back into ZCIS and Tony will be back to being the butt of every joke, object of nasty snark, and Ziva’ s purse again so – no thanks.
I too am not the least bit surprised that the season premier is a big Gibbs story. Aren’t ALL big stories centered around Gibbs now? Don’t forget that Gibbs new second in command McGee, will be prominently featured in this story as well. He is obviously the other male actor that tptb are invested in promoting now.
Bishop will accompany Ducky to England so yet again we see Tony passed over in the exciting part of a story. I guess he’ll be back sharing the clicker with McGee in that one.
We don’t actually get an episode which seems to at least nod toward the writers actually focusing a bit on Tony til episode 4. And really – they have spoiled big things for Tony for years now and this usually means he has a tiny sub plot (often humiliating) in a one and done and we’re back to Gibbs, or McGee, or Bishop as the central character focus in the story.
As far as his romance goes (and I’ll believe that it lasts more than one episode or is significant when I see it) it may be that the only reason Tony is getting at least this much attention, since tptb seem loathe to give him any attention that isn’t of the humiliating variety, is that they are sending a message to the nastier and loudest of the tiva/Ziva fans that they can quit sending paper clips and nasty messages. Tiva is being officially put down.

I really appreciate your articles but the things most viewers WANT to see on NCIS in season 12 won’t be shown because it is what most fans REALLY want (apart from this well known group who dislikes Ziva):
– No more Bishop as a main character and if possible no Bishop at all
– Ziva back at least as a guest
– NO Tony romance unless it is with Ziva
– no more villains like Parsa (because there was zero logic in all of this story arc)
– Delilah back
– more of Tim, Vance and a lot less of the same old Gibbs stories
…
I know it won’t happen but at least you want the fans to tell what they want to watch other than CBS and the nice people in charge surrounding the most ignorant show runner ever who is always busy ignoring what the fans of HIS show would like to see!

Wow! Very nice summary of most of the problems. I don’t think that TPTB are deliberately not giving the fans what they want. I don’t think that they can. I don’t think that they are able because they don’t see the show the way the fans do.. One of the hardest things for anyone who is involved in the creative process is to step back and see their creation objectively, see it as others see it. These guys are so busy with damage control that creativity went out the window. They can’t listen to the fans because we are not highly paid professionals like them. .
One major part of their plan is to keep telling the fans that what they are doing is great and that the fans are really going to like it. This reminds me of the movie, Star Wars, when Obi Wan Kenobi uses the Force for mind control on a couple of Imperial Storm Troopers. He says, “These are not the droids you are looking for.”. A weak minded trooper replies, “These are not the droids we are looking for.” The problem for them is that TPTB are not Obi Wan and they have no magical power of mind control and the fans are not weak minded. NCIS is a business. To be successful, the fans must fall in love with your product. For many of us who did, the thrill is gone. Some fans are threatening divorce. Some are doing a trial separation. Some are disappointed but hanging in there, hoping that things will somehow improve.
The solution is what many good marriage counselors would tell you. Go back to the beginning of the relationship and recapture the magic. Ask yourself “What were we doing then that we are not doing now?” Begin to woo the fans again!
One of my biggest problems with the show is that for ten years, Gibbs’s team was family. That concept ran through the show consistently. When they handled the departure of Ziva the way they did. NO ONE SHALL EVER MENTION HER NAME AGAIN!!!! TPTB changed the paradigm on us. It was one of the major things that made NCIS different from all the other cop shows. Now it’s gone. Could they fix it? Yes, if they recognized that dumping it was a stupid mistake in the first place. Can they admit it? I don’t know.
