ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: How Emily VanCamp’s Emily (or Amanda?) will move forward
We love the position that “Revenge” left us off in prior to season 4, mostly because it leaves the door open for an entire world of different possibilities for where Emily Thorne could be, and how her story could push forward. For one, she may not even choose to go by this name at all anymore. Since the name “Amanda Clarke” is basically out there now, why not just roll with it?
Speaking in a new interview with E! News, executive producer Gretchen Berg claims that one of the attempted goals for Emily VanCamp’s character on this upcoming season will be “living in truth,” which has to be pretty hard given that she has spent the past few years effectively lying to everyone. Meanwhile, fellow EP Aaron Harberts added the following:
“[She is] having to deal with the blowback from what she’s done, how does that push her relationship forward? She’s going to have to own a lot of the things she’s done.”
The concept of Emily looking in the rear-view mirror will be interesting now, especially since there is the possibility of many ghosts from the past turning up and demanding something from her after she took them down. There is of course a practically-literal ghost that will return to the picture in David Clarke, and she has to figure out how in the world he is still alive, and what his presence really means when it comes to how she perceives herself and her world surrounding her.
