‘Longmire’ season 3 spoilers: When will the murder of Walt’s wife be addressed?

When you have a procedural hybrid show like “Longmire,” which typically combines some case-of-the-week plots with longer ones, it can take a while to really get things going when it comes to events you really want to see.

However, we are pleased to report today that the show does not look to be dragging its feet at all when it comes to the murder of Walt’s wife. After the story was addressed somewhat in the premiere, it will be brought back into the equation well before we get to the finale.

The fifth episode of season 3 (which will air a week from Monday) is going to be entitled “Wanted Man,” and one of the stories that you should expect to see on it is something all about Walt working with Lucian Connally on the case. Note that this is not a promise of getting answers by any means, but it is at least some nice evidence that this story is not getting completely cast aside and forgotten by any means.

Personally, we would be shocked if this is completely resolved in the middle of the season, especially since it feels more appropriate for it to be tackled once you get closer and closer to the finale. If we were the producers, though, we would make sure that it was resolved before we get around to the next hiatus. It took a long time for the renewal to be official this past fall, so we’d rather have the insurance of knowing that the full story has been told than something different. You can always come up with further stories to tell after the fact.
