‘Switched at Birth’ season 3 spoilers: The challenge for Bay, Emmett now

Switched at Birth -Tonight marks the return of “Switched at Birth” to ABC Family, and it also marks the opportunity to ask a very important question: How are Bay and Emmett going to start their new road together as a couple?

The good news for the two parties is that there are some opportunities now for them to finally be together, but it unfortunately does now necessarily mean that there are zero complications. After all, Bay’s decision to be with him could have huge ramifications for Tank, and she has to handle the fact that she is now the cheater rather than the cheated on. Speaking to TVLine, this is an issue that show executive producer Lizzy Weiss claims that the character is really going to have to confront:

“The fact that Bay did the one thing she never thought she would do, which is cheat on someone, is the biggest issue. We really loved the idea that for 40 episodes, she had been stung and had this personal insecurity about being cheated on that we played out with Ty and even with Noah, who she felt like was stolen under her nose by Daphne. This has really become her thing. We just loved the idea of her doing it herself and having her come face-to-face with what it feels like to be on the other side. The fact that she cheated and is now having to face Tank is the biggest issue.”

The fact that Bay was made into a cheater in this particular situation certainly adds to the fascination of the story, and the complicated series of emotions we are meant to feel. From one vantage point, of course we are more than pleased that Bay has a guy in her life that we’ve always rooted for! However, at the same time we still have to confront the issue of how she managed to make it happen.
