‘Masters of Sex’ season 2: See Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan in new cast photo

Changes are coming to “Masters of Sex,” and we have the latest cast photo from the Showtime series in order to prove it.

The first obvious change with this photo is just that there is no Ethan present, which should serve as a good sign that he is not going to be a major part of the show anymore after taking another offer. One other noticeable change when it comes to the roster? The presence of Allison Janney. The interesting thing is that both she and Beau Bridges are shown in this photo, even though neither one of them can be a full-time cast member thanks to their other jobs. Given the production window for this show and their work on both “Mom” (Janney) and “The Millers” (Bridges), we imagine that we’ll see them more in the later part of the season that filmed once production on their own show started to wrap up.

There are also a few subtle changes to this photo from last year’s, though they probably do not mean much. This image for one is not set in any sort of professional office, and you have Masters embracing his wife Libby much more than he was in the first-season photo. But, don’t take this as any sort of genuine sign that the story is going to change accordingly. This is just a visual representation of the cast and nothing more; the most that it is is just fun to look at.

The new season of “Masters of Sex” will premiere on Showtime on Sunday, July 13 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, as it will follow the premiere of “Ray Donovan.”
