‘Glee’ season 6: Naya Rivera suddenly deletes Twitter account

To many out there, the value of someone’s Twitter account is a very debatable topic. For some, this is a not-newsworthy topic that is worth a groan or two, since social media should not be a cornerstone of one’s life. Meanwhile, to others this is a significant deal. The value of Twitter is that it is the modern-day equivalent of writing a fan letter, at least in that it makes you feel like you are a part of the world of some of your favorite people.

Now, we go back to the news that “Glee” star Naya Rivera no longer has an account. Her Twitter account disappeared earlier in the day, which consequently led to trending topics and many fans acting extremely disappointed.

Where in the world did it go? There are obviously many explanations, from some sort of hack to a feeling from Naya that she may want to simplify her life. The downside of social media if you are a celebrity is that you lose some of your privacy, and the temptation is always there to check your mentions and see who is saying terrible things about you now. Naya has also had a difficult past couple of months, as there were rumors regarding her future on “Glee” after she did not appear in the season 5 finale. However, show creator Ryan Murphy has said that all members of the show’s original cast are invited back for the sixth and final season, and Naya is included in that.

Of course, we will have some more updates as they come in, but for now we know that she is working on some directing projects in New York.
