NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: What Cristina Grimmie, Kristen Merlin, Kat Perkins will sing
Tonight on “The Voice,” the remaining five artists this season are going to take advantage of the opportunity to perform not just one, but two songs for America / the coaches that are going to be afraid to ever criticize anything.
This article is of course about what they are going to perform, and we have to say that for the first time in a while, we genuinely love most of the picks! They feel inspired, like there was a little bit of time put into them than we’ve seen from song choices over the course of the past several episodes. (These choices were first reported via Mjsbigblog.) Update: Click here to see our review for tonight’s episode!
Christina Grimmie – “Some Nights” and “Hide and Seek.” Great choices. One is a fun pop/rock hit, and the other is an indie Imogen Heap song that we remember from a big TV moment on “The OC” years ago.
Kat Perkins – “Chandelier” and “Let It Go.” The first song is a good choice, but the song from “Frozen”? Wait, what? Majesty Rose’s rendition of this on “American Idol” was a disaster. To be fair, her iTunes preview sounds more like the Demi Lovato version than the one from Idina Menzel.
Josh Kaufman – “All of Me” and “Love Runs Out.” You’ve got a OneRepublic song that fits well with Josh, and also the #1 song in the country right now from John Legend. This could be another huge night for him.
Jake Worthington – “Heaven” and “Good Ol Boys.” The second choice is boring, and while we’re not much of a fan of the Bryan Adams song being done to death on singing shows, we do like the song a ton.
Kristen Merlin – “Foolish Games” and “Gunpowder and Lead.” Ironically, the second song is the riskier of the two, even if it was first performed by Blake Shelton’s wife. She better bring the energy there!
