NBC’s ‘The Voice’ top 5 rankings: Christina Grimmie, Josh Kaufman race lives on
In just two weeks, “The Voice” season 6 is going to be over, and we are going to have an opportunity to know just who is the favorite of America. Is it really that complicated? This season, we don’t think so. We are staring in the face of the most predictable season since season 3 when Cassadee Pope won. We almost want there to be a surprise for the sake of entertainment, but at the same time the most-popular singers this season deserve to be there.
As a whole, we are considering performance quality the most important thing here, but you cannot forget about some of the intangibles, which include fan following and also coach popularity.
5. Jake Worthington (last week: 5) – The biggest thing that Jake has going for him is that he has Blake Shelton as a mentor, and he is the only person on Team Blake still in the competition. He seems to be a pretty nice guy who could practically be Blake’s little brother based on their relationship. The unfortunate thing about him is that he doesn’t bring anything new or different to the table.
4. Kat Perkins (8) – There is a strong part of us that is saying we are crazy for putting Kat, who has been saved twice by the viewers, ahead of Jake, but at the same time this extra screen time may help her. Plus, there are many who really liked her performance of “Get Lucky” enough to compensate for those who hated it.
3. Kristen Merlin (3) – Kristen is one of those singers who is different enough to stand out in country, and she’s so easy to root for. It’s going to be hard for her or anyone ranked above her on this list to topple the favorites, but this is a situation where making it to the finale really should be considered a victory.
2. Josh Kaufman (2) – The great performance of “I Can’t Make You Love Me” from Josh on iTunes proved that you don’t have to necessarily see him do modern classics for him to sell a ton of records. It’s going to be all about song choice (cliche, we know) with him if he wants to actually win the title.
1. Christina Grimmie (1) – In the end, it’s all about the Grimmie still this season. The biggest problem here is that Christina is such a favorite that there isn’t really a sense of shock or surprise in this season. She and Josh have such a huge lead on everyone you know that they will be the top two, and it is either going to take a great showing from Josh the next two weeks or a collapse on her part if things are really going to change.

I think it is obvious- Christina is not only so talented at her young age between her versatile voice, beautiful piano, and composing, but she is also a huge role model for people of all ages, especially for young people these days. She seems a very ‘real’ down to earth person, and I don’t know of anyone, once they get to know more about her, that do not genuinely like and respect Christina’s work ethic and artistry. She is an inspiration for today’s music. Adorable and terrific artist!
