‘Big Brother Canada 2’ finale interview: Adel Elseri on catchphrase, appeals to Canada

Adel -Wake up, Canada! It’s time for an interview with Adel! We have to say that our talk with him at the “Big Brother Canada 2” finale Thursday night was such a good time. He spoke with such earnestness about his love for his country,, and how much he really enjoyed being a part of the show this season.

This interview is one of many from the backyard we’re posting tonight, and you can see them all at the link here. We’ll have longer chats in the days ahead!

CarterMatt – Wake up, Canada! How does it feel to have a catchphrase?

Adel Elseri – Canada’s my country, it’s my pride, man. So I was waking up Canada on the live feeds, and the whole show. It was kind of my thing!

As someone who watched a lot of live feeds, thank you for communicating with us! Was that something you were looking to do?

There’s 36 million Canadians! I needed them to have my back, bro! I knew I was going to be myself in the house, and I knew that Canada would love myself. But the house, I tried my best. It was the ride of my life.

Do you think there are some things that future houseguests can learn from when it comes to playing Canada? You really did a good job with that on the feeds and in the Diary Room.

The theme was Canada. So there was no looking back when I figured out the theme. I had my flag, I rocked my flag every chance I could. I was up for 36 hours; I was waking up my fellow Canadians on the live feeds to chill with me.

Was there any debate that you had to make tonight? I know you and Jon are boys.

Jon’s the pride of Newfoundland and he’s my brother. We had a lot of good times in the house. He was the one who took me in after the Outsiders left, and I couldn’t do it without him.

That’s a big question. How did you manage to turn that little power you got, and turn that into the craziest thing?

It was a piece of paper, but it had a “V” and it was Canadian colors. So I just said that it was Canada’s Veto and I was holding the house hostage for a while with my cards. It was a good time and I was intimidating everyone with just a piece of paper, my man!
