‘Big Brother Canada 2’ finale interview: Heather Decksheimer on voting for Jon, Neda plans

Heather -Big Brother Canada 2” may have been labeled the “season of secrets,” but for many, it was more of the season of redemption. Heather Decksheimer looked like a lock for eviction a few weeks in, but thanks to one twist with Canada’s vote, she and many others managed to overthrow the First Five, and go deep into the game.

While Heather didn’t make the final three, we found out from her following the finale what she would have wanted to do if she had to choose between Neda and Sabrina to take to the end. Plus, there’s more! We’ll have a longer interview soon, and you can click here or see the sidebar with our other interviews from the night.

CarterMatt – How are you recovering from being out of the house?

Heather Decksheimer – It’s crazy. I don’t think I’ve really gotten down to a level playing  field yet. I was on a high being in the house, it was a high meeting everyone and seeing actual people, and it’s a really good feeling.

Was it hard after leaving the game to think about voting for Jon? Did you ever consider not doing so?

It would’ve been very hard [with] Jon and Neda, because I love them both so deeply, but if Jon had won and gone all the way to the end, he deserved to win. And I’m happy he did!

For you, how did you turn your game around after being picked on and having a hard time early in the game?

I think when people treat you in a bad way, you just need to rise above everything. I could’ve let it bring me down, but I knew that I had loved ones back at home who did love me and supported me. And Canada being HoH and putting two of the First Five on the block picked up my game and game me hope. Me winning HoH after that put me back on the map, and it was just smooth sailing for a while from there.

Well let me ask you a hypothetical here. Would you have taken Sabrina to the end or Neda, if given a choice?

If I was given a choice, I would’ve taken Neda to the end. I think that $100,000 is amazing and I would’ve loved to win, but I think morally and game-wise I would have brought Neda.

So what are you going to do now? What are some of the things you’re looking forward to when you get back home?

I’m going to see my boyfriend and see my family, and call some of my bestest friends in the whole wide world. And then, I’m going to do as many things that involve people as physically possible!
