‘Big Brother Canada 2’ finale interview: Allison White on Secret Veto, War Room strategy
Allison White played one of the most unique “Big Brother Canada” games of all time, mostly because she started out in a War Room, entered the game late, and then had a Secret Veto. She was the secret-keeper in a “season of secrets.”
Luckily, Allison was also a fun person to talk to after the finale Thursday night! We’ll have a longer chat with her in the coming days, but this is our short backyard interview. (You can see all our other interviews from tonight either in the sidebar or at the link here for the full list.)
CarterMatt – How does it feel being able to talk to outside people again?
Allison White – It’s amazing. Jury is awesome, but seeing new faces is wonderful. Everyone is so beautiful and I love it. Keeping all my secrets and stuff was some of the hardest stuff I’ve ever done, so being able to be free of that is like the best thing ever.
You had a crazier ‘Big Brother’ experience than really everyone else, and in the War Room you really were playing a different game. What was your strategy? Was it appealing to our strategic nature, because that’s why a lot of people seemed to want to root for you.
I didn’t know if it was that, or if they just wanted me in because no one was having a showmance. I had no idea. I was actually convinced that Scott was going to win. I thought 100% [that was going to happen], so when it was me I was just floored.
Are you frustrated in a way that there is so much talk being made about your relationship with Andrew, and not a lot about your strategy or your game?
I used Andrew to kind of get in there, that was part of my strategy. I mean, I kind of lost a lot of my strategy when he was there. When he left it was better for my game to actually game, but I made the wrong move by getting rid of Arlie. That’s what came back to bite me.
So what was searching for that Secret Veto like for you? It was very fun to watch, because it was almost like a secret agent mission seeing you do this [undetected].
It was the craziest thing, because I thought other people were looking for. That’s why I took the clue. It was crazy, because I was hanging by the pool, and one one sees me, even though I’m never by the pool ever. It was just really hard to not be seen [from there]. I knew it was in the secret room. It’s the secret Veto!
